J.E. Poorman

Here’s a great detail of the J.E. Poorman company’s letterhead in 1892. It depicts at the center a sketch of the July 4 race he promoted. The race started in Hamilton, OH and was run over the old turnpike (now Route 4) to Chester Park near Spring Grove in Cincinnati. This was a popular event that had racers coming from Chicago and Lexington to compete.

I came across a letter that was in a house we owned from this company written in 1894. Is there anyone that would want it?

Just found this message. If you still have the letter… I would enjoy getting my hands on it. Joel Poorman was a great-great grandfather.
    Thanks.
