Here’s just a short list of clubs that I have compiled while researching the history of cycling in Cincinnati’s golden age:

Brighton Bicycle Club – organized April 11, 1878 on Freeman Ave in Brighton.

The Cincinnati Cycling Club – September 2, 1880. 302 Elm Street

Avondale Cycling Club – 1880

College Hill Bicycle Club – 1882

Northside Wheelmen – April 9, 1886. Clubhouse on Chase Ave.

Central Wheelmen – September 1886 Club rooms on Central St.

Crescent Wheelmen – April 3, 1888. Club rooms at 587 W. 7th Street

Porkopolis Wheelmen – March 11, 1890

Buckeye Wheel Club (later became the Holly Wheel Club) – March 1890

Athletic Cycling Club – September 11, 1890

Queen City Ramblers – April 1890 (also know as the White Winged Wanderers)

Queen City Cycling Club – organized November 1, 1890 (first Women’s Cycling Club)

Social Cycle Club – 1890

Comet Wheel Club – September 12, 1891

Cincinnati Century Cycle Club – April 16, 1892

YMCA Wheelmen – August 31, 1892

Star Cycle Club – August 16, 1893

Norwood Wheelmen – March 24, 1894

Linwood Cycle Club – April 5, 1894

Gym Cycle Club – March 19, 1896

Carey Cycle Club – Women’s only club

Cincinnati Wanderers – Clubhouse on Madisonville Pike near Grandin (near current location of Cincinnati Country Club)
